Module contents and Free Samples
At the start of each module, students are set their project, before going on to complete a series of tasks at foundation (Stage 1) and/or higher (Stage 2) level, which develop language skills and knowledge while preparing them for the project itself.

A self-marking listening activity, which reinforces food and drink vocabulary, and provides a model for typical interactions when students organise their own project.

A self-marking reading activity. Vocab knowledge is extended, while a model is provided for discussing food preparation as part of the project.

Grammar game: Phrases using avoir (Stage 2)
A timed matching pairs game. This provides a fun, quick way of testing and consolidating grammar skills and can be used individually or as a front-of-class challenge.

Video: Café mondial
Having completed Stages 1 and/or 2, students watch a video, showing two Apprentice-style teams competing to complete a project based the module content. The screens that follow prompt discussion and evaluation of the model task, before students embark on it themselves.

On your marks: FCSE-style Speaking C
An ‘On Your Marks’ exercise designed to demonstrate how students could complete an FCSE-style Speaking Controlled Assignment, based on themes covered in Module C, which link in to FCSE Unit 9: Food and Drink. Similar activities at GCSE level are supplied in Modules D–F.
