The course is made up of 6 modules. Structured progressively, each contains content to cover half-a-term’s work. At the start of each module, pupils are given a project to complete. The projects set an achievable goal for creative communication, as pupils pursue a course of rigorous, differentiated skill and grammar-led learning, matched to the Key Stage 3 framework.
Typical projects include:
running a French-speaking café
devising a game testing knowledge of famous French-speakers
planning an environmentally-friendly village
Assessment Options
Self-assessment quizzes, worksheets and auto-marked tests with recorded feedback are available at the end of each module.
In addition, exam-based assessment is provided based on the language covered. This includes:
AQA GCSE practice materials at the end of modules D, E, and F
AQA FCSE-style assessment in each of the 6 modules
Your future GCSE candidates get a head start in tackling formal MFL assessment, while their classmates have the opportunity to put their learning in a formal context and realise their own linguistic achievements.
