The English Baccalaureate (EBacc) is a performance measure for schools, awarded when students secure a grade C or above at GCSE level across a core of five academic subjects – English, mathematics, history or geography, the sciences (including computer science) and a language.
In addition to GCSEs, approved iGCSE qualifications also count towards the EBacc (however short course and Applied GCSEs are not included). A full list of the accredited qualifications is available to download from the DfE website.
This information relates to the current EBacc performance measure rather than the proposed English Baccalaureate Certificate.
