Course Description
Aim
- Students taking AS and A2 level Psychology learn to understand the reasons and motivations behind human behaviour and the facets of abnormal behaviour.
- Issues specifically related to Psychology such as ethics, culture and gender are discussed during the course, providing insight into other areas of society.
- There is a synoptic element at A2 level including Abnormal Psychology.
- At A2 level students are required to complete one piece of coursework that helps to develop their research and investigative skills.
Relevance
- AS and A2 level Psychology give students a unique understanding of why people behave in a certain way and what causes human behaviour.

Assessment
AS level: Three written examinations
A2 level: Two written examinations. One piece of coursework as part of Module 6
Informal assessment is continuous throughout AS and A2 by regular marked assignments set by the tutor.
