Concentration and rate of reaction

This graph shows how quickly 1g of magnesium ribbon reacts with 50ml of hydrochloric acid of different concentrations. We measured how long it took for all of the magnesium to react.

The reaction went faster when we used stronger concentrations of acid.

This happens because there are more particles of acid to collide with the magnesium as the concentration increases.
