Leaf

The leaf is thin and flat. It absorbs light.

Light energy is used to make food from carbon dioxide and water.

A waxy waterproof layer protects the surface of the leaf.

Veins carry substances in and out of the leaf.

Gases enter and leave the leaf through tiny holes called stomata.
