Water availability

Photosynthesis is the process which makes food for the plant. It is a complex process. It involves many factors.

The rate of photosynthesis is affected by how much water is available.

In very dry conditions plants wilt. The holes in their leaves close to stop water passing out. This stops carbon dioxide entering the leaf, so photosynthesis stops.
