Parts of a Plant Cell

This diagram shows what a typical plant cell is like. There are five parts of the cell.

Cell membrane This controls which substances enter and leave the cell.
Cytoplasm This is where all of the chemical processes of life go on.
Chloroplast These absorb light energy to make food.
Nucleus This controls what is happening inside the cell.
Cell wall This rigid stucture helps to support the cell.
Vacuole This bag of fluid inside the cell gives it support.
