Light waves

Scientists believe that light is made up of waves. The waves are made of ripples of electric and magnetic energy in space. The ripples move out from a source at very high speeds.

Like ropes in waves, light waves can be reflected. Like waves in the sea, light waves can be bent, or refracted.

A light wave can be shown as a diagram.
