Coloured objects

White light is made of a mixture of colours. When white light hits a coloured object, some colours of light are reflected. Other colours are absorbed. The colour which an object looks depends on the colour of light it reflects.

Objects look different when coloured light shines on them.

Red objects reflect red light.
Green objects reflect green light.
Blue objects reflect blue light.
