Gases

Gases have the following properties.

They do not have a definite shape. They take up all of the space that is available to them - they spread out to fill the container. They can be squeezed into a smaller space.

Gases are like this because of how their particles act.

Eleven of the elements are gases at room temperature including hydrogen, and oxygen. Many of the gases which make the atmosphere are elements.
