Rubidium

Rubidium is a soft silvery, alkali metal. It has a low melting point and may be liquid on a hot day. It is very reactive and ignites if exposed to air. It was discovered in 1891 by Robert Bunsen and Gustav Kirchhoff in germany.

Rubidium may be used in 'ion engines' to power the spacecraft of the future.
