Helium

Helium is a colourless gas. It is one of the 'noble' gases. It is very unreactive. It is the second most common element in the universe.

Helium is used to make lighter than air balloons, because it is lighter than air. It is used as a protective gas in arc welding and growing silicon crystals.

Divers breathe a mixture of oxygen and helium.
