Calcium

Calcium is a silvery white metallic element. It is important in making teeth bones, shells and leaves. It is reactive and is not found as the metal in nature. Most is found in limestone rock. It was first isolated in 1808 by Humphrey davey.

Calcium is used as an element in the extraction of some rare metals. In limestone it is important for the building industry for making cement, mortar, and plaster.
