Bromine

Bromine is a brown liquid. It is a member of the Halogen group. It has a strong smell and is an irritant. It was isolated as an element by Antoine Balard in France in 1826.

Bromine is used in making leaded petrol. It is used to make materials flameproof. Silver bromide is used in photography.
