Aluminium

Aluminium is a silvery white metal. It is extracted from a type of rock called bauxite. It is a lightweight metal, which can be made strong when mixed with small amounts of other metals. It was first isolated by Hans Oersted in Denmark in 1825.

Aluminium is used in making cans and foils. Its light weight makes it an important metal for building aircraft and rockets.
