Mendeleyev's table

Mendeleyev found a better way of ordering the elements than newlands. He worked out a new sequence for the elements in the periodic table.

His table placed more elements with similar properties into the same groups. He used it to predict the properties of elements which had not been discovered then.

The modern periodic table grew from this idea.
