Motor

An electric motor has a coil of wire wrapped around an iron core. The coil is put inside the field of a permanent magnet. It is fastened to an axle. When current passes through the coil it becomes an electromagnet.

There are now two magnetic fields. The two fields react with each other.

The coil spins around on its axle. This spinning movement drives the electric motor.
