Fuse

A fuse is a safety device in a circuit.

It is made from thin wire. If there is a fault in the circuit the current flowing will increase. This could be dangerous.

As the current increases the thin wire in the fuse becomes hot and melts. The fuse 'blows'. This breaks the circuit and stops the flow of current.
