Capillaries

Inside each organ, arteries branch into a network of very thin capillary tubes. Capillaries are very narrow tubes with thin walls. Every cell in the body is close to one of these tubes.

Susbtances which cells need pass out from the blood through these walls. Substances made in the living cells pass into the blood.
