Large Molecules

Carbohydrates, proteins and fats are made of large molecules.

The large molecules can not be absorbed by the body. They can not pass through the intestine.

They are not soluble. They do not dissolve in the blood. They can not be transported around.

Glands in the digestive system make enzymes. Enzymes break down the large molecules.
