Digestion

The food you eat contains nutrients which your body needs. These nutrients must be absorbed by the body before they can be used.

Food passes through parts of the digestive system.

Some of the nutrients are made of molecules which are large and insoluble They can not be absorbed by the body.

The large molecules can be made smaller by enzymes.

The small molecules can be absorbed easily.
