Pancreas

The pancreas is part of the digestive system.

It makes enzymes. These pour into the small intestine through a duct. The enzymes help to digest food in the small intestine.

The pancreas also helps to control the amount of glucose in blood. If there is too much glucose the pancreas releases insulin into the blood. Insulin causes the liver to take glucose out of the blood.
