Heart

The heart is part of the transport system.

It works as a pump to push blood around the body through arteries and veins.

The heart is made from muscle. When the muscles in the wall of the heart contract, blood is forced out into the arteries. This is called a heart beat.

Blood can only flow through the heart in one direction.
