forest conservation .This site includes some useful
information about the characteristic features of
Tropical Rainforests, as well as a collection of
rainforest photos used to promote their holiday
programmes. The site is also very useful to use
later in the unit as an example of ecotourism and
the possibility of sustainable developenmt of the
rainforest.

Amazon region. The site has 4 home pages including
sections from a book describing the rainforest ecosystem.
The stock, whith more than 35,000 slides, is always
being updated. Unfortunately there are stict copyright
regulations for the photos on this site. The images
are slightly larger than thumbnail size and organised
in topics eg. landscape, flora, fauna, Manaus, tribal
people. There are also photographic reports about
developments in the Amazon a road scheme for example.The
images are truly breathtaking portaying the region
in its magesty. This site will be always in construction,
with news of recent events, reports and also experimental
adventures.
