Information Technology
Information Technology – Level 3

The main areas of Information Technology competence require you to use a range of IT programmes to complete ‘complex activities’. The specification requires two different activities (see Task One and Task Two) to show the ability to:

  • Plan a project and obtain information from a range of electronic sources
  • Develop the information
    • by bringing together information from several sources
    • by sorting information into a useful form
    • by testing data (e.g. using ‘what if’ queries)
    • by comparing data from different sources
    • by exchanging information with others electronically.

The tasks provided on page 259 use research into climatic data to allow you to work in a way which would, in total, present a ‘package’ of required competencies.
