    Assessment

    Assessment of knowledge and understanding will depend heavily on the sections covered and the additional examples incorporated. Assessment should enable students to focus on the specific citizenship aspects of their work, especially important if this unit is integrated into another subject. Focused assessment tasks can also help students to assess specific skills, such as debating skills, rather than the factual content of a debate, and thus help them to identify the different strands of their progress in Citizenship. The activities and suggestions in this project fit well with the approach adopted in the QCA Citizenship Key Stage 3 Schemes of Work, Review Unit 19.
