Digital Project Manager, Meteor Online Learning Cheltenham £35,000 - £40,000 (depending on skills & experience)

Meteor Online Learning delivers effective and innovative digital publishing and education solutions to teachers and students, both independently and in conjunction with publishing partners. We specialize in helping our publishing partners transform existing publications into online products for the digital marketplace.

Reporting to the Product Development Director, your role will project manage innovative and exciting web-based, e-learning development projects for time, scope and budget to tight deadlines. The role is not technical but a good understanding of delivering digital projects is necessary. Experience of projects with off-shore developers and a strong usability focus would be an advantage.

This is a fast-paced environment using Agile project development, and although exposure to Prince2 is useful, qualification is not a prerequisite. However, attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple projects is required.

Educated to degree level, candidates must be self-starters able to: demonstrate project management skills and expertise; have strong communication skills; work with other team members to resolve problems and demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills.

Production Editor 12 Months Fixed Term contract

We currently have a vacancy for a Production Editor in our friendly Pre-Press department, producing educational books for subjects including International, Maths, Economics, Science and ICT.

As a Production Editor you will manage all stages of the editorial and pre-press process including liaising with authors, editors, typesetters and other external suppliers to deliver new books within time and cost budgets.

If you are a graduate with an editorial flair, strong project management skills and enjoy working to deadlines and budgets this could be the role for you. Ideally you will have excellent organisational, communication and influencing skills and be comfortable working under your own initiative. Some understanding of the print production process would be an advantage.

e-Content Editor (temporary contract up to 6 months)

We’re looking for a talented individual to work on a range of electronic educational products. You will ensure e-learning resources are produced on time, to budget and to specification.

You will be responsible for tracking and driving forward the editorial stages of large numbers of electronic resources that make up our next wave of market-leading e-learning products.

This role requires exceptional multi-tasking, organisational and planning skills and would suit a highly methodical and meticulous individual who is used to working in a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you will have e-learning, editorial, multimedia or publishing skills. Science qualification (particularly Physics or Chemistry) would be desirable but not essential.

International School Sales Representative

Cheltenham – Salary £18k

Part of the international Infintias Learning Group, Nelson Thornes is a leading publisher of blended learning materials for schools and colleges world-wide. Employing over 300 people, it has a strong commitment to personal development and training.

Reporting to the International Sales Manager, you will be liasing with our network of representatives, booksellers, key contacts and most importantly schools, throughout the world excluding Africa and the Caribbean. You will be contributing to the achievement of targets as a key member of the Sales team. You will be responsible for seeking new sales opportunities as well as maintaining current sales. Part of your role will also be to contribute fully to new product development in liaison with other members of the department.

You may have relevant experience in sales, but this is not essential. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational abilities and experience of Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Presentation packages is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital to the role and you must be capable of working independently and as part of a team.

You must be prepared to travel for a minimum of 12 weeks a year and a full driving licence is required for this role.

You will also be comfortable assessing and developing commercial opportunities using your strong business acumen skills and experience.
