Teacher's Guides

There are two Teacher’s Guides to support the Fast Lane series, 1 Fiction and 1 Non-Fiction, which provide an overview of the scheme and detailed information on:

• Ways to use Fast Lane: as an individual or classroom group intervention scheme.
• How to use Fast Lane: placing, assessing and moving pupils through the scheme.
• Text types and genres: text types featured in the non-fiction texts.
• How to use the teaching notes and activity sheets.
• Assessment: how to use the Fast Lane assessment sheets: reading records, phonics assessment, frequently used words assessment and comprehension assessment.

Each Teacher’s Guide comes with an accompanying CD-ROM containing the printable activity and assessment sheets.

There are three activity sheets for each Fast Lane book: Comprehension, Vocabulary and Phonics; each activity has been specifically designed to link with the assessment and can be accessed to match pupils' needs.
