Research
Fast Lane is a literacy programme culminating from years of work and research involving many special education consultants, talented authors, and a dedicated publishing team.
The research informed us as how best to support and engage older pupils with literacy difficulties and has proved invaluable in developing Fast Lane to provide highly motivational texts at the appropriate reading level.
The end result is a high interest, low readability series of ‘real’ texts that allow students to transfer the literacy skills they have gained from Fast Lane to their wider reading.
Fast Lane has been trialed in the following groups:
- Pupils with learning difficulties
- Pupils who are reluctant readers
- Pupils who require further reading practice
- Pupils from a low and high socio-economic background for whom English is a Second Language (ESL)
- Pupils from a low and high socio-economic background with an English Speaking Background (ESB)
