Introduction to the Fast Lane series
Fast Lane is a high-interest, low-readability, levelled reading program aimed at 7 to 11+ year-old pupils who need a high level of support to improve their literacy achievement.
Fast Lane offers:
- Finely graded fiction and non-fiction texts to support reading development (Fast Lane level 6 to level 25).
- Engaging, highly motivational texts with age-appropriate content.
- A wide range of topics and text types, with cross-curricular content that is relevant to themes and topics being studied in the classroom.
- A ‘real book’ look and feel to provide pupils with a rewarding reading experience.
- Printable assessment sheets for comprehension, vocabulary, phonics and writing are provided
in the accompanying Teacher’s Guides.
Fast Lane has been independently researched, trialled and evaluated by Australia’s leading research university – The University of Melbourne and successfully piloted in the UK.
