Course Description: AS & A2
AS Level, gives students an insight into some of the key topics in Psychology and students will be expected to explore reasons and motivations behind different
areas of human behaviour. Students will also develop their analytical skills as they examine different issues in Psychology such as ethics and research methodology.
A2 Level, offers students the opportunity to continue their studies in this fascinating subject. The objective of the course is to give students an insight into some more of the key topics in Psychology and students will be expected to explore reasons and motivations behind different areas of human behaviour. Similar to the AS Level students will also develop their analytical skills as they examine different issues in Psychology such as ethics, culture and gender.

Two units:
- Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Research Methods
- Biological Psychology, Social Psychology and Individual
Differences.
(The AS may be awarded as a discrete qualification or count as 50% of the A2).
The A2 Level modules comprise:
Three modules in the first written paper:
- Biological Rhythms and Sleep
- Relationships
- Eating Behaviour
- In the second paper, students will explore:
- Schizophrenia
- Psychology of Addictive Behaviour
- Psychological Research and Scientific Method |
