Following the structure of the new AQA specification for History, this comprehensive range of blended resources provides all the support you need to:

  • Promote an understanding of change and development over time, an understanding of change over a short period studied in depth and a study of change over 100 years.

  • Help students acquire an understanding of different identities within society and an appreciation of social, cultural, religious and ethnic diversity through the study of aspects of British and non-British history.

  • Develop students’ interest in and enthusiasm for history and an understanding of its intrinsic value and significance in today’s world.

AS Samples

The print sample is an extract taken from the student book, which focuses on ‘Changes in Culture and Society in the Sixties’. The accompanying e-resource is a Webquest, linked to one of the activities in the chapter, in which students are asked to prepare for a class discussion.

Webquests are designed to support students' research and analysis, enabling them to use the wealth of source material on the internet and other resources in a structured and valuable way.

This resource encourages students to think more carefully about the source material presented to them and its reliability. By using both book and e-resource together, students benefit from an engaging blended learning experience both in the classroom and independently.

‘The print appears attractive and interesting without appearing too “immature. I think that these resources the new A Level course are just what is needed in a subject full of un-engaging and stuffy textbooks’.
Tom Podd, Year 12 History Student

“…as a practising teacher myself, I am looking forward to introducing my students to the books, webquests and e-activities. ‘Blended learning’ is certainly the way of the future and should provide pupils with the very best support they could wish for in their Advanced level History studies.”
History Teacher, Cheltenham Ladies College

AS A Sixties Social Revolution? British Society, 1959-1975
‘It is clear that the students will be preparing themselves for the examination in a highly productive manner by undertaking the exercises contained in the various chapters.  It is also a strength of the approach adopted that the book can be used flexibly by teachers; it is a key resource, but will allow teachers to use the materials in different ways’.

AS Totalitarian Ideology in Theory & Practice c1848-1939
“A particular strength of the book is the range of activities suggested, including written summaries, source analysis, examination questions, paired work and group work. This range suggests that the book will be a significant teaching and learning aid.”
